¡Hola!

Last two weeks has gone so fast! I can't even realize that I have spent here almost two months. Everything is fine here. Work has been good and I have learned so much more. Of course there are some bad days when I miss my friends and family like grazy. But I feel happy here.

The weather is getting warmer and days are getting longer. Summer is coming :)

Last week I went to HyväOlo-event. Event was in one Finnish restaurant nearby my apartment. It was like a little fair where entrepreneurs were telling more about their services in Costa del Sol. There were hairdressers, sport massage, nail-artist, personal trainers and also had a opportunity to buy Aloe Vera-products and magnetic jewellery.

I actually booked a facial and won a Aloe Vera cream from there.

I like living in Spain, but there is one thing I hate more than anything; cockroaches... I have found at my apartment three (luckily only three) cockroaches during my stay here. Two was already dead but one was running around on my kitchen table. It's not very nice to wake up and a first thing you see is a cockroach.

At the end I will put some photos from last two weeks.

Work, work and more work

I really like my job. I have been working for 3 weeks now and every day at the office is different. My coworkers are nice; they are all from different countries. There are people
from Finland, Denmark, Spain and England.

At the airport

Some days are really hectic and lots of cars are coming in and out. All customers are coming to get their cars at the same time and all phones are ringing etc… But on the other hand, there are moments when I have almost nothing to do.

My workday includes answering emails and phone calls, making reservations, checking in and out rental/parking cars, customer service and also driving cars from airport to the office and vice versa. One day I went to pick up a car from clients house in Torreblanca, it is about 20 minutes away from our office.

:)

So how I got the idea of applying for this job?

I was reading all the blogs of our students and trying to figure out where I want to apply.

I applied for three different jobs all located in Malaga. I knew that I want to come to Fuengirola to do my internship. I have lived here before and absolutely love this place.
I sent email direct to Autokatti, I waited quite a long time for the respond, but it was worth it.

Train station at 7.30 am

Of course, my life here is more than just work. I have spent time with friends, doing some shopping and hanging out in cafeterias. Just enjoying life in Spain!

Last week we went to Plaza Mayor to see a movie. It is so different here... We were watching this American movie called Horrible Bosses 2, and it was dubbed to Spanish. Everything here is dubbed on TV also... Well, luckily now I know how to change the language on the TV. :)

What a week !

I have spent 10 days here so now it is time to update my blog for the first time.

I arrived here last week on Friday morning. I went right away to get the keys to my new apartment. It is middle of everything, just few minutes to the supermarket, cafeterias and about five minutes walk to the train station.

I had five days to relax and hang out with my friends before my work started.

It´s nice to live next to the beach :)

Thuesday (Epiphany) was the day of Reyes Magos (Three Kings). So on Monday evening here was a parade which goes from Los Boliches to the central of Fuengirola. Everybody gathers around to welcome the Three Kings, Gaspar, Melchor and Baltasar to the town. The parade is full of kids throwing candy, also dancers and orchestra. We were enjoying the parade from my balcony.

Pretty good view!

So what will I do here for the next 5 months? Well, I will be working on Autokatti and BlueCat parking in area of Airport of Malaga - Costa del Sol. It is just half an hour by train from my home.

At work.

I started my work on Wednesday. I didn't actually have any expectations what is like to work on car rental. I just went there open minded and looking forward to this experience.

Now I am excited about the work and ready to learn more about everything in there and especially improve my language skills.

In my next post I will be telling more about my work. Now everything is so new that I can't even put it on words.

Hasta pronto !
